To align your business vision and goals it helps to take everyone offline for a few days. A leadership retreat allows you and your team to really focus on what you want to achieve in 2, 5 or even 10 years.
To make your leadership retreat efficient and effective, use these three agenda items:
- Pre-work. What do you want your team members to read, think about or bring to the event? Everyone must be aware of what you want to achieve during the retreat so you aren’t sitting around brainstorming what to talk about.
- Less is more. Make your conversations short, sharp and succinct about very specific topics. One issue at a time – for no longer than 30 minutes.
- Execution. Before you leave the retreat assign people to execute what has been discussed. Determine: WHO is going to execute, WHAT they are going to do to get it done, and WHEN they are going to have it done.
